Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a specialized method used by licensed and trained mental health professionals and other health care providers to help individuals cope with a wide range of problems and issues as well as to improve and enhance performance.
Hypnosis is a combination of deep relaxation and suggestions in the form of words and images. When deeply relaxed and focused, suggestions specifically designed for the needs of a particular client facilitate changes in how the individual thinks, feels and responds.
Hypnosis can be used as a separate treatment method or in conjunction with other treatments and forms of therapy.
Many conditions can be helped by hypnosis including anxiety, depression, addictions, trauma, pain management, weight problems, sleep disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, tics, unwanted habits, fears, phobias and many other psychological and medically related conditions. Peak performers in business, sports and the performing arts use hypnosis to improve their skills and performance.
Although a short term approach, hypnosis is not magic and it is rarely a quick fix. A series of weekly sessions over a period of several months is usually required to receive the maximum benefits. Practice with customized audio tapes between sessions also improves results.
Hypnosis can be used with young children, adolescents and adults. The suggestions are modified based on the language, vocabulary and understanding off the client.
The training, skill and experience of the practitioner using hypnosis will also play a big role in how effective the method is. Since hypnosis is not licensed it is best to work with a licensed health provider that has specialized training and experience using hypnosis.
When used by a well trained licensed professional, there is virtually no down side to using it. It is naturally, rapid and most people find it a very pleasant experience.
